At September 24 sitting moderated by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan, the Committee debated the NA draft decision on Applying to the Constitutional Court on Suspending the Authorities of the Judge (member) of the Constitutional Court (CC) Hrayr Tovmasyan authored by the RA NA My Step Faction.

As the NA deputy Suren Grigoryan has presented, the goal of the initiative is the guarantee of the transparency of the ongoing processes in the CC and the provision of trust towards the court. The adoption of the draft law will allow making the item of suspending the authorities of the CC Judge by the RA Constitution and a matter of the CC examination with the order designed by the law on the Constitutional Court.

The CC Judge Vahe Grigoryan sent a document, where he noted his position on the impossibility of taking part in the examination of the case of the CC members Hrant Nazaryan, Arevik Petrosyan and Hrayr Tovmasyan.

The Committee Chair considered the adoption of the legislative initiative an unprecedented reality.

During the exchange of ideas the MPs mainly were for the draft law. The members of the RA NA My Step and Bright Armenia Factions voted for it, and the Prosperous Armenia Faction was abstained.

The Committee in the first reading debated the draft law on Amending the RA Civil Code authored by the Government.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Rafik Grigoryan presented the draft law.

The bill on Amending the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly authored by the NA deputy Arman Abovyan was debated in the first reading.

The draft law on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Civil Code authored by the NA deputy Vladimir Vardanyan regulates the items on giving and receiving warrants by the medical institutions.

The MPs endorsed the debated draft laws for being included in the draft laws of the agendas of the session and upcoming regular sittings.

Three namesake legislative initiatives on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Criminal Procedure Code presented by the RA NA deputy Nikolay Baghdasaryan were also debated.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Anna Vardapetyan has informed that the Government is for the content of the draft laws. She has also noted that in the near future a new Code of the RA Criminal Procedure will be presented to the parliament.

As a result of debate, Nikolay Baghdasaryan removed from circulation the draft laws before the system being technically ready.
